Our Wedding Day

Our Wedding Day

So on April 6th a wonderful thing happened. My best friend and I got married for time and all eternity in the Logan temple. It was a cold snowy day that was warmed by the hearts of so many close friends and family who traveled to witness our special day with us. Everything was perfect.  (Aside from the fact we all wished we were wearing Russian coats!) We were and are so grateful for everyone who came. Logan was kind of our own destination wedding because we had been planning on it since we were dating. The sealing room was full to capacity. Many had to stand. The spirit was strong as the temple is such a special place and we were doing such an important ordinance that will last forever. After wedding we drove down to Vegas for our honeymoon and had a great time. We got to be together and watch a show even!

Life As a Newly Wed Couple

Since all the hustle and bustle of our wedding and trip to India beforehand, we have quietly settled down in a small one bedroom apartment in West Salt Lake, only a 2 minute drive from down-town. We have had fun decorating it to make it look like a home. Now we love to be together there with our little aquarium of fish and our plants-- our pride and joy! Shawn is now back in school and I am working. We love our new ward and can't wait to get to know all the wonderful people there a little better. We have already had so many adventures together in the short time we've been together and we can't wait to see what the future will bring us!

New Beginnings

Holy cow! When you aren't writing is when everything happens. This goes for my journal and apparently my blog that only had two posts on it. (That was my old one. Yeah I can't figure out how to log into that one anymore.)

I can hardly believe it! In little more than two days I will be on a plane with my fiance, Sravan (Shawn) to his homeland India to meet my soon-to-be inlaws! I know. It sounds like I'm just making this up. But it's true! I'm getting married to the most handsome, loving, and giving man on April 6th. I feel like I can finally relate to that cheesy quote by Dr. Seuss where he says "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." The other day "our" camera came in the mail--the one we will be using on our trip. I know Shawn is excited to go to India. He hasn't seen his parents or sister for two years. I have heard so many good things about Shawn's parents, who raised him so well. It will certainly be a treat to meet and talk with them face-to-face as I have only chatted very briefly with them over the phone. And of course, I am thrilled to step into a new country and see the other side of the world. I have only as yet been to Canada and Mexico as my out-of-country experiences. Shawn tells me everything is opposite there, so it will be good to have him by my side.

I can't believe we are getting married! Recently I have been asking Shawn "Are we crazy? What are we thinking?" Naturally, since we met and fell in love I can't imagine being without him and we both want to spend our eternities together. It's just all so hard to believe that it's actually happening! It's definitely a dream come true. We will take a lot of pictures and I will be sure to post some after our trip!
